Daniel J. Steckler,

Dr. Danny Steckler is very excited to
call Smith and Steckler Pediatric Dentistry
home. He started his education at the
College of Charleston and later transferred
to the University of Kentucky to completed
his degree in Kinesiology in 2001. He
completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine
degree from the University of Kentucky
College of Dentistry in 2006. Dr. Steckler
went on to complete his post-doctoral
training in pediatric dentistry at the
University of Kentucky Chandler Medical
Center in 2008. He has been a proud member
of the Lexington community for over 14
years. Some of Dr. Steckler’s favorite
activities include spending time with his
wife Rachel, playing indoor soccer,
wakeboarding, UK basketball and football,
and playing with his dog, Rocky. He is also
expecting his first child in March of 2012!
Dr. Steckler is Certified by the American
Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member
of numerous organizations including the
American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry,
American Dental Association and the
Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
 W. Haywood Smith,
D.D.S., M.S.D.
Dr. Haywood Smith is proud to call
Lexington his home since he graduated in
1971 from the pediatric dental graduate
program at the University of Tennessee in
Memphis. Dr. Smith received his B.S. degree,
D.D.S degree, and masters degree before
completing his Kentucky state dental
licensing and specialty board. He is married
to Dr. Carol Smith, a family dentist who
graduated from the University of Kentucky
College of Dentistry. They have a son, Steve
who is married with two children and another
grandchild on the way!
Dr. Smith is proud to announce his
retirement from pediatric dentistry! He has
served the children of Central Kentucky for
over 40 years. He will be spending a lot of
time with his grandkids in Florida and will
be periodically filling in at the office!
The wonderful staff at Drs.
Smith and Steckler Pediatric Dentistry is
excited about treating the infants, children
and adolescents in the Lexington area
community. We are truly a “family” and we
pride ourselves in making sure that every
patient has the very best dental experience!
